Description
Murukkady in Kerala is widely known for its extensive spice and coffee plantations. The region offers ideal conditions for growing a variety of crops. Here, a woman is picking coffee; both Arabica and Robusta varieties are grown here. Visitors to Murukkady can witness the entire process, from the harvesting of the coffee cherries to their processing. As well as coffee, the area is famous for pepper and cardamom, whose scent permeates the air. Cloves, ginger and turmeric are also cultivated here. – 1990
