These are the ingredients for a typical fish curry dish from the Malabar Coast in the south-western Indian state of Kerala. In the local dialect, Malayalam, these mackerel-like fish are called ayila. At the top left you can see coconut flakes, next to them small onions, salt, dried yellow tamarind peel, Indian pepper (ground pepper pods) and, in the middle, a brownish soy paste.
