Description

  • Foto Number: ARG-224

Argentines are increasingly drawn to sports like football. Sunday after Sunday, thousands of aficionados (fans) flock to the stadiums of the capital and the provincial cities. Incidentally, they share this predilection with other South Americans. Nevertheless, the horse has not been forgotten. The old gaucho tradition exerts an irresistible spell on Argentines. This explains why a sport like polo could achieve great importance in this country. Polo, invented by the English as colonial masters in India, is played in Argentina by the wealthy class. - 1973
