This building is the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas in Cartagena, Colombia. The imposing fortress was built from 1536 onwards during the Spanish colonial period. It is regarded as one of the most significant and largest fortifications ever built by the Spanish in their colonies. Together with the historic old town of Cartagena, which is surrounded by city walls, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. – Colombia – 1972
