Description

  • Foto Number: 42N-283-06

A woman walks down a street in Jaisalmer wearing traditional, colourful clothing. She is wearing a pink ghagra choli (a loose-fitting skirt and top) and a patterned red dupatta (veil) covering her head. She skilfully balances a large, rolled-up quilt or mattress on her head. In her right hand, she also carries a full, light-green plastic bag. Carrying heavy loads on the head is a common method of transport in many rural regions of India. – 1990
