The Mendut Temple (in Indonesian: Candi Mendut) is a Mahayana Buddhist temple located in the village of the same name, on the island of Java (Indonesia), in the Magelang district of Central Java. Built in the early 9th century, it forms part of the Borobudur Complex, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, along with the neighbouring temples of Borobudur and Pawon. – 1990
