Description

  • Foto Number: SAH-359

The Tubu, inhabitants of the Tibesti, the mighty mountain massif between Libya and Chad, are the only ones who receive free thermal cures here. In fact, the sulphur springs of Soboroum enjoy a very good reputation among them, because even the Saharan inhabitants are not spared rheumatism. However, where we would have installed showers and bathtubs, there is so far only the Dantesque landscape of a volcanic crater with its multi-coloured rocks, its fumaroles - sulphurously stinking gas eruptions - and its water and steam fountains. - Tibesti - Chad - 1967
