In the Acacous Mountains, on the way to Teshouinat. In caves there are early historical engravings of elephants and water buffaloes from around 4000 BC. They are similar to those in the Algerian Tassili Mountains. The paintings document periods when the region was much wetter and thus offered a much more fertile landscape. - Libya - 1969
